Just got back from a trip and I feel like I made a rookie mistake bringing our full size stroller.

We use the Uppababy Vista at home and love it, but I didn't fully think through the logistics. It was a nightmare because it’s not carry on friendly, we had to gate check it every time. I didnt expect that to bother me as much as it did, but handing it over at the gate felt… not great. It’s expensive, and you just hope it comes back in one piece. On our return flight, it didnt even show up at the gate and we ended up waiting at baggage claim with an overtired kid, which was honestly the lowest point of the trip.

Now we have another trip coming up next month (heading to Miami) and I’m terrified of the airline tossing it around or losing it again. I really don’t want to deal with that, so I’m thinking of getting a small travel stroller just for flights so we can avoid this situation altogether. I keep seeing options like Ergobaby metro+ and Babyzen YoYo come up because they’re known for fitting in the overhead bin, and I've also seen Momcozy Tuckgo, which seems a bit more budget-friendly for something that’s going to get a little beat up on the road.

Not looking to replace our main stroller at all this would literally just be for travel days. For those who use these smaller strollers I need to know these

  1. Do airlines ever give you trouble about bringing them into the cabin if the flight is full?

  2. And how do they handle terrain like cracked sidewalks or grass once you actually get to your destination?

We’ve got a 6 month old and I already feel like I messed up once buying baby stuff bought a bunch of clothes that didn’t even last more than a few weeks before she outgrew them.

Now we’re getting into solids and looking at high chairs, and I really don’t want to make the same mistake again with something bigger.

I know a lot of these are supposed to grow with the baby but I’m not sure how that actually plays out in real life. Like do people really keep using the same chair for years, or do you still end up switching later?

I’ve been seeing stuff like momcozy Dinerpal,Stokke Tripp Trapp and Abiie Beyond.

If you’ve used one for a while, what actually lasted?
