Working Around Framer’s 10-Field CMS Limit using multi referencing feature
I’m currently using the free plan in Framer and trying to build a modular CMS structure while working around the 10-field limit in the main collection.
To avoid exceeding the limit, I started using a multi-reference field that points to another collection containing reusable “section-like” content blocks/components.
However, I’m facing two issues:
- When binding the multi-reference collection in the design file, Framer renders all referenced items instead of allowing me to access/select a specific referenced item.
- If I use filtering to isolate a specific item, the filter state affects other reused sections/components connected to the same collection.
Because reference fields also count toward the 10-field limit, using separate single-reference fields for each section type is difficult on the free plan.
Has anyone found a scalable way to:
- reuse dynamic CMS sections/components,
- isolate filters per section instance,
- and work around the 10-field limitation without upgrading plans?
Would love to know how others are structuring CMS systems in Framer free plan. I have also attached the remix link - https://framer.com/projects/Ab
