What were relations like between East Germany, a loyal follower of the Soviet line under Walter Ulbricht and Erich Honecker, and Warsaw Pact black sheep Romania? Is there anything worthwhile mentioning except for the fact that Romania was the first country to cripple West Germany’s Hallstein Doctrine and therefore narrow the wall between East and West? I’d love to know more about this under-explored relationship.
