Moxifloxacin inquiry
I need to ask I couple of questions about Moxifloxacin. Recently me and my father got infected with Haemophilus influenzae. Since my usual doctor was busy, I went to another one. The doctor prescribed me cyplofloxacin eye drops, which I was to drop in my nose. My symptoms got better, but a couple of days after the initial prescription, my usual doctor prescribed me moxifloxacin antibiotic pills, because supposedly I wouldn't get fully well just on the drops. I still took the nose drops for 2-3 days after starting the pills, but stopped afterwards. Now here's my two questions.
Yesterday evening I dropped some moxi nose drops in my nose. My nose, nasal cavity and throat almost immediately got painful and sore for a while, and also I got a runny nose with a yellowy discharge (which is also the colour of the antibiotic drops). Is this because of the unneeded dropping that maybe could've irritated these areas, or is the infection back?
I'm supposed to stop the oral antibiotic tomorrow (Friday). On Saturday I'm headed to a party. Is it safe to drink, or no? If so, how much alcohol am I allowed and what side effects should I know of?
