Hey drummit, so this will be the first time for me taking my acoustic kit to a gig. Previously I took my E-Drums which worked out okayish using regular bags and such. But knowing how my band mates help packing the car, it's a question of time before something breaks.

So, what are your must haves for travelling with your kit? I was thinking hardware bag and cymbal hard case are a must. I could imagine blankets will work out for protecting the shells. I have a pretty standard setup - 1 Snare, 3 Toms, Hihat, Ride, 3 Crashes and related hardware. Since we're barely getting paid I'd like to spend as little as is necessary. I might throw in a Snare bag so I can easily move with my breakables

So far we only play in our city so it's usually just a few minutes drive from our practice room to the location. Drums will go straight from the car onto the stage and from the stage into the car. Meaning I'm not too concerned with the shells being exposed or flying around the car.

Love to hear from more experienced giggers. If you have some random advice you wish you had known regarding logistics I'm happy to hear anything :D cheers
