Non acceptance experience

Hi all,

Lots of discussion around non solicits lately with the consensus being:

  1. Your jurisdiction might not enforce it
2, if they do, your company might not pursue it
  2. If they do, you might win the case
  3. In most cases, these end up not being a breakaway killer

Does anyone have experience with non acceptance ?

This is, you can’t even accept a former client if they reach out to you.

Seems like if these were enforceable, every firm would use them and thus keep all their clients in an advisor exit.

Seems like this is an infringement on client choice.

Does anyone have actually experience with one?

MS, ML, EJ, etc

Do you feel that the independent model capturing more and more market share is a serious threat to your current employer?

The wires still have majority of assets, and could theoretically pivot away from selling product etc. and many are trying to pivot internally to fee based.

How do you see your long term career going at a wire?
What’s keeps you at a wire house as RIAs continue to take assets as clients seem to appreciate clearer incentives and independence?
