I wanted to post here today and see if anyone else who has left the organization has had the experience of reconnecting with people from their old congregation who also woke up and left.
I’ve personally connected with several people from one of the original congregations I grew up in back in my hometown. Surprisingly, quite a few of the young women I grew up with eventually left as well, and after reconnecting, they now also recognize the organization as a high-control cult.
I later moved to another state, attended a congregation there, and have also reconnected with former members from that congregation who ended up leaving too.
What’s been really interesting is that many of us seem to be doing very well now — thriving with our families, finding peace, healing, and honestly just feeling happy to be out. It’s also been comforting to find one another again and openly have conversations about our experiences and realization of what the organization truly was. At the same time, we all still hope our loved ones who remain inside will eventually wake up too.
I’m curious if others here have had similar experiences reconnecting with former congregation members who also woke up and left. I can’t be the only one.
Thanks for reading.
