Is it normal the law firm do not give any information
The company is paying for the law firm, but they have very little experience with immigration and visa processes. I am the only foreign employee here, so I usually have to guide them and explain each step of the process myself.
We are currently filing the I-140. When I asked the law firm whether the petition had already been filed and requested the receipt number, they refused to provide any information. They told me that since it is an employer-sponsored petition, all communication and updates would only be shared with the employer, not with me directly.
Is this a common approach among immigration law firms?
