I’ve looked at so many tents I’m now struggling from indecision with too much choice on offer so thought I would ask the fabulous people of Reddit 😂
I’ve been on a couple of camping trips with my four year old and we’ve loved it but have so far survived an awful cheap pop-up tent and now want to invest in a proper family tent. I need air as I’m only 5’1 and have to do it single handedly with my four year old running around. I’ve looked at most small polycotton air models - Kampa Brean 4, Vango Harris 350, Kampa Hayling 4. Budget (and weight!) doesn’t stretch much beyond these but I’m wondering if I’m wasting money on polycotton and whether a polyester tent would be fine and give us more pack space, more tent, and more ability to lift it for the same price? I have asthma hence wanting something more breathable but I’m not sure if my experience in the mini pop up nightmare has put me off polyester unfairly? I was ideally wanting something with a porch with ‘doors’ rather than just an open shelter but that’s hard within the current polycotton constraints.
We plan to go away a few weekends a year, and for a couple of 1-2 week stints possibly. Thanks!
