Kings Of The Wyld - Come for the Wyld, Stay for Clay “Grumpy”Cooper.

I just finished reading Kings of the Wyld, and honestly, Clay Cooper was what saved it for me. There’s something about his vibe. His grumpiness and the way he doesn’t say much but still feels so genuine made him more relatable than your usual fantasy hero. The banter among the crew worked too. It didn’t feel forced or scripted; it felt like a group of old friends who don’t need a script to connect.

My favorite part was seeing the real people behind the legends. The hints at their regret, aging, and ego were intriguing. I actually wish Eames had explored that even more because those emotional moments were the strongest part of the story.

The villain didn’t really impress me, though. They felt pretty one-dimensional and typical for fantasy. They did the job, but they weren’t particularly memorable or deep.

Overall, I’d give it a solid 3 out of 5. It was fun, but Clay is definitely the highlight.
