Awkward kitchen layout - HELP!
Hi all! Another kitchen layout request....
We are remodelling our kitchen, but we have an overhanging corner which is making it tricky. We can’t afford to have the kitchen in the dining space, so it’s staying in the existing area. I am grateful for all the space we have to work with; cost just means we have to be sensible :)
Please see the existing floorplan.
Building work:
- Removing the chimney and opening the shared wall
- Bricking up the kitchen door, and adding a window.
The hard parts:
- Water points are on the external wall (cheaper to leave them there)
- Extractor fan is on the right wall - existing mechanical ventiliation remaining there (we thought about downdraft hob, isn't worth cost)
- the extention overhang made the corner tricky to not waste the space
- where to stick the radiators - tall ones it is, so need to large as not as efficient
The current proposed order against the external top wall is a single sink, full dishwasher, and washing machine (integrated).
We have to RSJ/beams going across the ceiling. I think that adds to the bulky look of some designs.
Help! I have added a few of my own - the images are of the existing proposed plan, the others are general ideas.
Images in order - exisiting floor plan, picture of actual kichen, agreed kitchen design, my slight changes to existing design, image of another plan, image of full wall units (partner does not like this really..)
proposed change to paid for design (corner cabinets, bigger pantry at bottom right)
