I’m about to start week 8 of this hell and no medication is working.
I’ve had chronic migraines since I was 9 years old, but it seems it evolved into VM based on this never ending cycle. Before this period, I was on Emgality and Nurtec. The nonstop dizziness and nausea prompted me to also take Zofran. Nothing helped.
I also got diagnosed a few other things in the interim, like mycoplasma, a complex UTI, and early pancreatitis, but some doctors don’t think I had it at all. The latter
I was finally able to see my neurologist a week and a half ago and she gave me Propaponol, Protonix, and Ubrelvy. Initially she also gave me an anti inflammatory steroidal injection, which maybe helped me for a day or so. I didn’t start on Ubrelvy until Friday, but nothing helps. I’ve had one bucket of feeling less worse a couple of nights ago but I can barely get out of bed and I am desperate. I don’t know if I can keep working like this since I’ve been working from bed on my computer, but it’s been so hard. I also got some supplements: Magnesium, Riboflavin, Ginger extract, probiotics. Supplements have been hard to take because the capsules are so big I get really nauseous.
I got Botox for six years and it helped me so much. When I moved back home two years ago, we switched to Emgality and it hasn’t been great. I’m gonna push to get it again, but in the meantime I don’t know what to do. I can’t do anything, I live alone and have no support, so I’m really struggling to live like this.
Does anyone have any advice on what to do?
