[Request] Schedule creation help
I don’t know if this directly falls under “math” but didn’t know where else to post. There are definitely math concepts involved in the process here.
Here is the situation. I am creating a schedule for a summer learning camp.
8 groups of students (can be reduced to 7 or 6, and probably will have to be, but no fewer than 6)
6 teachers (possibly 7 but no more) and no other staff on site
8:30 to 12:30
All kids must be with a teacher at all times
Teachers need about a 30 minute plan time (no kids), so I believe the only way that works is some groups combining for some time periods
Students can have a 30 minute recess/free time
Only math and literacy will be taught. Assume 2 math teachers and 4 literacy (and the 7th teacher, if necessary… almost definitely necessary… can do either/both as needed).
The subjects don’t need to be split evenly as far as time (more time in literacy classes is expected given the L:M teacher ratio)
I think that’s all. I have some ideas but it’s tricky, and thought someone out there might be good at this stuff. If not mathy enough, oh well! Thanks!
