I want to get a senior cat for my apartment.
- So, I have a job lined up in a city three hours from my rural house (I live with my parents at the moment). I have two cats at my parents' house, but they are family cats more than just my cats. So, I would have a 9-3 job and be doing some college classes part-time online. Anyways, I'm looking at apartments and planning out my budget, and a cat would fit into that. I was thinking of getting a senior cat, since I am perfectly fine with adopting an older cat, and that might give the cat a nice home. I'm thinking this would give the old kitty a nice, calm environment that is all theirs, and it would keep me from being totally alone. What I am wondering is, would this be selfish? I mean, I would stay in my apartment all year and be able to give the cat attention, but I am sure there are people more qualified than a young adult in a tiny apartment (1 bed 1 bath). Any advice or insights would be appreciated.
