Hi - Im a first time cat owner and was Surprised to find out that cats do not drink a lot of water and to have a low thirst drive. And I feel like urinary crystals in male cats sounds like a very painful thing for cats to experience.

So from my reading I thought that ensuring cats drink water, and avoiding high phosphorous food would prevent CKD (note my cat does not have CKD or crystals).

To that end, I've been giving my cat broth and adding 1/4 cup of bone broth daily to his wet food.

He gobbles it all up - but Im just wondering is 1/4 cup of bone broth too much? This bone broth is home made from chicken carcasses that I get from my local asian supermarket. I put enough water to cover the carcasses and simmer for a long time, and then drain out all the bones/gunk.

Whats left in the broth is basically jello and I have to warm it up for it to be liquid again.

I can't seem to find any nutritional information on phosphorus levels in bone broth (particularly chicken) - so any advice would be appreciated! Thanks
