Eat Today
I think this is allowed under my reading of the rules, but I wanted to give a huge shout-out to Eat Today, the Ethiopian restaurant on S. Grand. We live in the area and love going there with our toddlers: the food is great, the portions are huge, and the owners are incredibly kind.
Earlier this evening, while we were having dinner there, a homeless man came in asking if they had any food. The owner immediately told the cook to prepare a meal for him. We flagged her down and asked if we could pay for it, but she refused.
I know a significant share of their business is takeout, but it breaks my heart a little that the place always seems kind of empty. I hope you’ll consider them next time you’re looking for a place to grab lunch or dinner. They also have a liquor license and a decent selection of draft beers in case that's something you care about (I do!)
