I genuinely don’t understand what I’m doing wrong in interviews and it’s starting to get to me.

I’ve been getting a lot of interviews, so on paper I must be doing something right. But I just cannot seem to get past the interview stage. It’s like I hit a wall every single time.

The frustrating part is that these are roles I know I’m capable of doing, like, genuinely could do them in my sleep. So I don’t think it’s a skills or experience issue. But clearly something is off.

I’m trying to reflect but I can’t pinpoint what’s going wrong. Is it the way I answer questions? My confidence? The way I come across? I wish someone would just tell me straight up.

For those of you who’ve been in a similar position or who interview candidates:

What are the common mistakes people don’t realise they’re making?

What actually makes someone stand out as a “good fit” beyond just qualifications?

Are there specific things I should be saying or doing that make a real difference?

I’d really appreciate honest advice because I feel stuck right now and I don’t want to keep repeating the same mistakes.
