AlDente issues: MBP does not charge battery with power adapter plugged in following AlDente software use
Macbook Pro 2019 Intel Core Sequoia 15.7.5.
Installed the free version of AlDente to protect new battery while using a monitor.
It worked fine, charge limit to 50%. Then I used the discharge function to drain the battery. Since then, the MBP recognises the power adapter (plugged in sign) but "the battery is not charging". It is stuck in this way till battery eventually drains. The MBP shut down .. Managed to have the MBP re charge using an Ipad lower voltage adapter to trick the system .. it worked. As soon as I logged in .. same thing happened - battery discharge only - even after resetting all on the AlDente software. Tried resetting SMC, in vain. It seems the T2 chip firmware is stuck with a false command - discharge battery only ! Any one had the same issue please ?
