I always struggle with buying Docs because I'm a Women's US 9.5. I wanted a pair of the Buzz 5-eye and knew to size down so I bought a 9 but I'm worried it's still slightly too big.

My heel doesn't lift all the way out but comes up a tiny bit. And there's probably more to room than recommended (maybe like 0.5 inch too much than the recommended 0.5 inch toe room)

If they had half sizes I think it would be perfect. Is it worth to buy the 8s and return which size feels worse or do you definitely think the size 8 would be too small? The sizing chart says 9s are 10 inch foot and 8s are 9 3/5.

I also don't have a Docs store near me to try them on or go buy directly from which is why I ask if it's worth
