Void Form + Swift "Weirdness" (?)
I know it doesn't work. We all know it doesn't. But what I don't understand is HOW it doesn't work.
More than a month ago I found this card with a Swift 1 thanks to the Winged Charm. I suspected it would not have worked, but I had a thought:
- Cards effects follow the order in which they are written.
So I took it out of experimentation and expected one of these two things to happen:
The turn ends. Since the turn is ended, the other effect does not go in play and the cards are not drawn.
The turn ends. There is still an effect "on the stack", so you draw the cards AFTER the turn is ended, during the beginning of the enemy turn, and they stay in your hand, kinda like when Centennial Puzzle is triggered by an enemy attack and other such effects. And you get to use those cards in your next turn.
What INSTEAD happens, as many of us know, is:
- You FIRST draw the cards, THEN the turn ends and you discard them.
And what I don't understand is... why? Am I not understanding correctly what "end of the turn" means? What is the order of things here?
Can someone explain to me why does it work that way? In this order? When other cards follow the order of the sentences?
