I hate when people say "male"/female" instead of "man"/'woman" in reference to people.
When we're talking about an animal, we say "male" or "female". It feels weirdly dehumanizing to use those terms on a human. Plus I think it's unintentionally transphobic. Does anyone else feel this way? I think it's just weird to call someone a "female" or "male".
EDIT: The reason I say it's unintentionally transphobic is because someone's sex is not inherently linked to their gender. Someone can be a "man/woman/enby" regardless of their genitals. There are certain contexts such as biology where I think "male/female" is fine to use. I just don't think it has a place in standard social settings. It also comes off as sexist when men will refer to themselves as men but call women "females".
