Bart Ehrman in his YouTube video "Was Jesus a Violent Rebel? (Or a Zealot?)" mentions around the 19 minute mark that Jesus said a lot of one liners that end different stories in the gospels, such as "those who live by the sword will die by it". Dr. Ehrman remarked that scholars have recognized the significance of Jesus' one-liners, but did not elaborate any further on the topic.

What sort of conclusions have scholars drawn about any of the short puns and one-liners that Jesus utilized in His parables and teachings?
