What’s been your experience with movers in Mississauga? Any tips for avoiding surprise fees or damage?

UPDATE: I recently hired Aleks Moving for a residential move in the Mississauga area. Overall, the experience was smooth and straightforward. The crew arrived on time, worked efficiently, and handled furniture and boxes with care. One thing I specifically noticed was that the final cost matched the initial quote, with no unexpected add-ons or hidden fees on moving day, which I’ve heard can happen with other movers.

Based on my experience and what I’ve learned, here are a few practical things that seem to help avoid issues:

  • Make sure the estimate is detailed, not just a rough hourly rate
  • Ask upfront about possible extra charges such as stairs, long carries, heavy items, and assembly or disassembly
  • Confirm what packing materials and protection like blankets and shrink wrap are included
  • Get everything in writing before moving day
  • Clarify timing rules such as travel time, minimum hours, and how delays are handled

I’m still curious how others in Mississauga handled their moves and if you’ve run into surprise fees or damage, what you did differently to avoid them.
