Retirement Fund Investment
Hi, My father recently retired from a state government job, and he currently has a decent amount of liquid funds parked in short-term FDs while we evaluate better long-term options.
I wanted some guidance from this group. My dad is very honest about the fact that he is not particularly confident with business or financial matters, so we are looking for relatively stable investment options that require minimal active oversight and management.
Given factors like rupee depreciation, rising fuel costs, inflation, and broader economic uncertainty, what are some good long-term avenues we should explore? - Farmland, Index investing, Residential plots, etc
The priority is capital preservation, reasonable long-term growth, and low day-to-day involvement rather than aggressive returns.
