At the office I work at, in the women's restroom on the counter by the sink, there is a small basket with essentials in it (tampons, hand lotion, hair ties, and...a tin of breath mints). The women in the office, myself included, keep it resupplied as needed.
Recently a male colleague asked me if I had a breath mint. I said no, but I could retrieve one from the women's room. He asked me what I meant, and I explained about the basket. He said it was gross that we had mints in the restroom, that it was unsanitary. He said, "Haven't you seen the Myth Busters episode about toilet spray?"
I was confused; it's not like the mints are in the stall by the toilet. They're on the other side of the partition, in a case inside a basket. I tried explaining this but he was like "No thanks." Thoughts?
