Help a noob
Hi! It’s my first time playing the game, and I’ve been learning a lot just by reading this sub. I’m about 21 hours in now and had a few questions I was hoping you guys could help with.
Right now I own 3 ships, including one M miner. My plan was to leave it on Automine, but I couldn’t find anywhere buying Ore or Silicon, so I switched to "Repeat Orders" instead. At the moment I have it mining Ice and selling it to an Ice Refinery, but sometimes there are not enough Buy orders and it sells only half. Any tips on how to mining works or how to make better use of my Miner?
Another thing: while doing missions for money, I noticed later that I ended up progressing into the Kingdom End DLC storyline. Since I’m still very new, would it be better to back away from that for now and focus on more “vanilla” gameplay first to learn the mechanics properly?
I also received the free Headquarters station in Heretic’s End from the DLC. I got confused at first because I didn’t realize I had to deliver materials to build storage modules, my main ship is a fighter and could only transport 20 Hull so I bought an M transporter to be able to deliver everything. Can the station become profitable early on if I turn it into a Solar Power Plant or should I do something else with it?
I’m currently at +8 reputation with the ARG. I noticed the faction representative only offers a Police License right now, and I haven’t seen the Military License yet. Does that unlock later at +10 reputation? Also, when I reach +10, will I automatically gain access to purchase better weapons and equipment at ARG Wharfs?
Lastly, what’s the best way to improve faction relations? Right now I mostly trade with them and destroy criminal traffic near their stations.
I completed all the tutorials, but some mechanics are still taking a while to fully understand.
