Hey Everyone! I recently got into Tarot and I found this really cool website of someone who made a cool list of the 16 Majors paired with the 16 Minor Courts. The idea is basically that the Major Arcana represent big life events or character archetypes as opposed to minor day-to-day activities and small occurrences. It’s like they carry the spirit of the Major Arcana with them. An example would be Death and The Page of Wands. This makes sense bc Wands are associated with action and passion. Death is a new beginning(page) and takes a lot of drive to do(fire). Another example would be The Hanged Man being tied to the Knight of Cups. The Hanged Man is about seeing new perspectives and reflecting on emotional endeavors and feelings towards your life. The Knight of Cups is also an emotional pursuer, typically with love, but it can be broadened to anything, in this case the elements both match because they’re both water, but that’s just coincidently. Sometimes they do sometimes they don’t.

The Fool and The Lovers are left out because they’re too broad and generic. The Fool has endless potential and The Lovers are just 2 people in love, they can’t have a correspondent.

The inanimate object (Wheel of Fortune) and the celestial bodies ( The Star, The Moon, and The Sun) also don’t have correspondents but I’ll give my take on that in the end!

Now The List:

The Magician - Page of Swords
The High Priestess - Page of Cups
The Empress - Queen of Wands
The Emperor - King of Wands
The Hierophant - King of Cups
The Chariot - Knight of Pentacles
Strength - Page of Pentacles
The Hermit - Queen of Pentacles
Justice - King of Swords
The Hanged Man - Knight of Cups
Death - Page of Wands
Temperance - Queen of Cups
The Devil - King of Pentacles
The Tower - Knight of Wands
Judgement - Knight of Swords
The World - Queen of Swords

Now for the celestials, this is my personal take that I believe is totally right…

What other cards could be used for these 4 entities? The Aces! They embody the suits/elements in their purest form right?

Wheel of Fortune is Fire
The Sun is Fire
The Moon is Water
The Star is Air

We don’t have an Earth match, so we have to go with what each card is going for in terms of what problems and/or achievements the cards can potentially give us

Here’s what I think the correspondence are:

Wheel of Fortune: Ace of Wands
The Sun: Ace of Cups
The Moon: Ace of Swords
The Star: Ace of Pentacles

The Wheel of Fortune is about taking risks, you have to be a little crazy, sorta reckless and pretty daring to use such an unreliable, dangerous item, the wand is about taking action and accepting what comes from the end result of spinning the wheel.

The Sun is one of the 6 cards that are pretty positive even when reversed, others being Temperance, The Star, The Empress, Strength, and The World. The Ace of Cups is about positive emotions and feeling fulfilled on a deep spiritual level. Both are just pure, simple, and positive to an absolute.

The Moon is one of the 4 most challenging/difficult cards, not necessary negative but they kinda are. The other dangerous cards are The Devil, The Tower, and Death. The Moon is dealing with uncovering hidden truths, seeing past illusions, The Ace of Swords is about using your intellect and thoughts to cut through to reality, the fog is cleared from taking the sword.

The Star and The Ace of Pentacles obviously as a funny symbolic coincidence both are stars. But really when you think about the reason most people are miserable, it’s typically bc they’re poor. It’s really difficult to enjoy spending time with a friend group when you have to come back home to a cold apartment in January because you can’t afford the heat bill. It’s hard to appreciate spending time with your family if the dinner table just has crumbs. Money is certainly not all that matters in life, but if you don’t have to worry about money, then life can be enjoyed on a base level.
