Varied civil engineering responsibilities
One of the things I love about this thread is that I get to see all the different things that us civils get to work on. There are so many different facits of the industry may or may not even be tangential related. For example, in my industry of land development, I see people talking about working on scopes that I would not even consider civil engineering. In my area, we do not do any of the dry utility design. There are specialized subconsultants, who are not civils that prepare this design. This often comes as a surprise to our our of town clients who are used to civils working on dry utilities.
Have you ever encountered a similar situation where another civil engineer's job is much different due to regional variations?
