About a year ago I got a promotion at my job (im not a server and i get paid hourly) and instead of getting a raise in my hourly pay i got more money in online/pos tips. I asked him to change my hourly wage instead and he did and now i get about 55 weekly.
My coworker told me that she gets paid that same way (less than minimum wage hourly, about 3-4 as much tips as me) and Im curious if he is distributing them unevenly so he doesn’t have to pay out of pocket or paying us through that selection to avoid taxes or something. Sorry if this doesn’t make sense but if this is true would I be able to do anything about it? Is it legal?
(edit, everyone as far as i know is paid an hourly wage)
