Hello all, I’m looking for song recommendations. 😊

My son is 11 years old and has, mostly on his own, developed some reasonable piano skills. He mostly learns from watching videos on YouTube (especially those with a reactive visualizer). The problem is that – probably because he has autism – he is very set on learning technically very difficult songs that are too far from his comfort zone. Which means he doesn't experience progress. He is also very suspicious of getting a real piano teacher, so that’s a more long-term project (if ever). He has easily surpassed me and wife in skill, so we are not really able to help him either, but we really want him to succeed and find joy.

Here is a selection of songs he practices (with my comments):

Chopin - Etude Op. 25 No. 11 (Winter Wind) – comment: very hooked on transition into the technical side, but stumbles after 30-35 seconds.

Chopin - Fantaisie-Impromptu (Op. 66) – comment: just way too difficult.

Liszt - La Campanella – comment: he wants to be able to play the beginning of the song.

Giorno's Theme (Piano Cover) - JoJo's Bizarre Adventure: Golden Wind – comment: he is adept at playing the less technical parts of the song, the last half or so.

So, I was wondering if any of you could recommend more accessible songs for him to practice that are still in the vein of those songs. I think he is open to music outside classical (like Giorno’s Theme). Also maybe songs that might enable him to learn some of the above-mentioned songs especially La Campanella.

Any help is appreciated!
