Tracking my piano practice was kind of a reality check
I always felt like I was practicing piano pretty consistently, but once I started actually tracking my practice time, I realized I was skipping way more days than I thought.
At first I tried manually logging sessions, but I kept forgetting, so I ended up using MIDI input to automatically track when I was actually playing.
What surprised me most was the total time.
Even on weeks where I felt “productive,” my actual practice time averaged only around 20 minutes a day.
I'm currently working through Beyer and Czerny 599, and eventually I'd love to play Chopin properly someday.
For those of you who are further along:
does ~20 minutes a day sound too little for meaningful progress?
