I’m building a small Rhino/Grasshopper tool for architects, computational designers, and facade designers.
The idea:
- select a facade surface
- generate panelization options in minutes
- control module size, gaps, openings, rotation, and attractors with sliders
- automatically assign panel IDs
- flag panels that exceed fabrication limits
- export a CSV panel schedule
I’m not trying to make “AI that designs buildings.”
I’m trying to automate the boring step between a nice parametric facade and something that can actually be documented or fabricated.
Questions:
- Is this a real pain point in your workflow?
- What output would you need: CSV, DXF, Revit, IFC, something else?
- What would make this useful enough for you to try?
- Would you prefer this as a Grasshopper definition first, or a proper plugin?
