Hi everyone,

I’ve been working on a small children’s book idea that combines a simple story with puzzles (like word search and activities).

The concept is more of a “journey” — something gentle and meaningful, possibly inspired by faith, but not too heavy or preachy (Apparently there are a lot of restrictions).

My original idea was to create something meaningful but still fun — not preachy, more like storytelling with values.

But while preparing it for KDP, I started noticing some potential limitations and concerns:
- content sensitivity
- how much “faith-based” material is acceptable
- how to balance fun vs message

I’m honestly not sure where the line is. I’m still figuring out the direction, so I wanted to share a few sample pages and get some honest feedback.

There are a few parts, each part start off with a comic. Trying a few comic style, feels like kids nowadays like anime style cartoon. Will see how it goes, maybe pixar style? Minecraft Style? Something to get kids excited.

Then we got maze, word search, activities and stuff like that

Trying to make it suitable for parents, Sunday school churches, faith-based institutions for younger kids (maybe 5-9 years old)

Then we will have like a page for parent + kids discussion; to encourage parents engagement.

👉 Do you think this kind of mix (story + puzzles) works for kids?

👉 Would parents prefer more story or more activities?

👉 Is it better to keep the message subtle?

Really appreciate any thoughts 🙏
