General information: F47, severe B12 deficiency now treated with injections, Endocrine Pancreas Insufficiency, melanoma removed in October and newly diagnosed with focal awareness epilepsy with an occasional generalized seizure (once every 5 years on average). Diagnosed with EEG and activity located in right temporal lobe. Meningioma near the atlas. I use Creon and Lamotrigina (100 mg once a day).
I live in another country so conversations with my neurologist are kind of difficult for me and everything confuses me quite a lot. English is also not my first language so I apologise for any mistakes. Please help me understand what the neurologist has told me.
Because of my new epilepsy diagnosis, I recently had an MRI done. They saw 3 laesions in my right temporal lobe and one of them showed minor activity. They told me not to worry about the meningioma.
My questions: what do those laesions mean? And what does it mean that one has activity? Is the epilepsy caused by the laesions or are the laesions caused by epilepsy? I have several focal seizures during the week and one of my generalized seizures took quite long to stop (woke up when the ambulance people were already in my house). I have problems with focusing and memory.
Please help me understand what's going on with me.
Thank you in advance!
