I have a Jetta S love it but I’m thinking of an upgrade. Leaning toward a GLI but is there things about Mazda 3 , civic si and similar priced cars that I should consider ? The gli just screams a lot for money and fun with luxury . Fun with still being economical with mileage and a daily driver is important. So in that sense not leaning toward the rally hot hatches as much(plus significantly more expensive seems like for wrx and the like?)

RWD not really feasible since I live in an area can have bad winters…

Anyhow hope those details can let you all know what I’m looking for and steer opinions appropriately.

Have a 2023 S is a nice car and I like it incredible for the money but def plain compared to a GLI. Thinking about making the jump. Would be a significant financial jump but there be no remorse in lacking features because well it’s the top dog for a Jetta and unless go electric or something or my life circumstances really changed to have significantly more money etc I’d want to keep it a while. I do know most of the differences mainly luxury and performance , suspension etc .

Anything else could be missing?
