For context, I’m a 30 year old filmmaker from Brooklyn. I’ve been here for 6 years working as an AC and Cam Op on commercial work and indie films, some of which have gone to Sundance and such.
I’m already pretty deeply embedded in the NYU community, and don’t necessarily want to give that up and move across the country, but I’m very tempted by AFI’s shorter program and fully funded short films.
There’s also the third option if continuing my camera dept career while working on my feature scripts and getting them in front of my friends who have made their first features already.
Anyway, has anyone here graduate from either program and could enlighten me on your experience, and life post graduation?
