I tried backflushing the pisser and attached a video of me flushing it while the engine was running, but still no water comes out of the pisser. Is it normal to have no water coming out of the pisser while flushing it on the trailer or does that confirm a blockage somewhere?
Need help with my 2001 Yamaha XL1200.
It starts right up and idles good. On the trailer it sounds fine too. When I take it on the water it runs perfect for about 20 minutes, full power and revs normal.
After around 20 minutes it starts bogging badly when I hit the throttle and won’t rev up. It almost feels like it’s starving for fuel or overheating. If I shut it off and let it sit for about 20 minutes, it runs perfect again, then repeats the same cycle.
Also noticed little or no water coming out of the pisser outlets.
Things I’m wondering:
- cooling blockage?
- overheating?
- clogged fuel vent?
- bad fuel pump?
- carbs?
- ignition issue when hot?
Anybody familiar with XL1200s know what usually causes this?
