RIGHTEOUS FURY - 15pts
I made this for a homebrew detachment competition that the Salamanders discord is running.
I had the idea after a game where I almost exclusively rolled 2s on my miracle dice. The detachment rule gives you something to do with bad miracle rolls while leaning into the glass cannon aspect of the faction. Lethal or sustained will let your unit pack some extra punch, but giving every weapon hazardous will mean your unit goes down a lot faster too. It's pretty similar to Orks dread mob rule, but you always choose and get hazardous, and must also spend a miracle die. That said sisters often have worse detachment rules than orks and I wanted to have some good strats, so these changes felt appropriate.
For enhancements: explosive vests is a fun a flavorful one to throw on a big melee squad that will rush into enemy lines and hopefully put a few mortals into a few enemy squads as it dies.
Anointed blade is a big melee buff. The reroll hits works great with the army rule and the +1 damage gives a jump cannoness a reason to use it even when leading zeraphim. While note quite as strong as TSS in HM it still packs a mean punch.
Tabernacle of lesser miracles gives you some low miracle dice to spend on the detachment rule early game.
Righteous Fury lets you choose both lethal and sustained when you use the detachment rule. I like the idea of putting it on a cannoness with retributers, but there are lots of fun options.
The stratagems were partially based on the "holy trinity weapons". Rerolling hits at close range inspired by meltas, strength and ap on objectives by bolters, and advance and shoot by flamers.
I also love the focus sisters can have on transports so charging out of them and reactive moving (potentially to hop back in like dominions often do) seemed like fun.
The last strat started as a heal d3 models to make up for all the hazardous tests, but I was afraid it might work too well on hospisacs, there was also concerns it would be to miracle die hungery, so an AoF style buff and miracle gen strat was swapped in.
Hope you like it! Would love to know what you all think.
