So this song by Alicia Keys famously samples and interpolates After Laughter (Comes Tears) by Wendy Rene while using the drums from Billy Squiers Big Beat.

I am however searching for the source of the sad verse that is used as an intro. The lyrics are

>My man don't want me no more
He said he needed a little time
To clear his mind
Meanwhile, I'm losing mine

Besides the repetetive horns you can hear the vinyl crackle, the singers voice also does not sound like Mrs. Keys. Almost reminds me of Nina Simone. I couldn't find anything on genius or whosampled. I thought I try my luck here. Thanks in advance!
