Summary:
DxE has been around for over decade. Throughout this time there has been a stream of whistleblowers and survivors sounding alarm bells about abuse from Wayne and others in DxE.
Board members like Priya (co-founder and ex-President) have said they won't tolerate such things but suppress testimonials, retaliate against survivors/whistleblowers/critics, and repeat the cycle. In 2023 some revelations about Wayne's personal abuse patterns was published.
Wayne said he stepped down and DxE temporarily distanced themselves from him. We now know that DxE was funneling donor money to Wayne for his Simple Heart front organization the whole time.
And that Almira (DxE president) has been on Simple Heart's Board of Directors this whole time.
And that Wayne's sister Amy is the figurehead responsible for the "separate" Friends of DxE nonprofit that controls DxE's millions in funding and cash/stock reserves. As part of this, Amy purportedly oversees grants averaging close to $40k each per year to other activists who provide Wayne/DxE with uncritical flattering publicity.
The $ mostly comes from Owen Gunden, a Bitcoin Billionaire who's been active with DxE since 2016. He doles out this money to DxE and other enmeshed organizations via his Phauna Project foundation. Sabina Makhdomi is Phauna's VP.
Sabina's been tightly involved with DxE since 2015. Phauna's Grants Manager is John Boland. He's been involved with DxE since 2016.
Phauna also funds Pro-Animal Future and its sibling organization Pax Fauna. Almira (DxE) and Sabina (DxE/Phauna) are on Pro-Animal Future's Board of Directors. Like Wayne Hsiung, Pro-Animal Future/Pax Fauna's co-founder Aidan Kankyoku has his own years-long record of severe sexual abuse allegations. He and his co-founder Eva Hamer got their starts in DxE.
Phauna Project Grants Manager/longtime DxE activist John Boland has his own history of extreme sexual assault allegations.
Boland and Aidan Kankyoku played leadership roles in the Ridglan actions.
The tools of organizational oversight (ie Boards of Directors) are bastardized across these groups.
They cannot be reformed and are getting more and more new enthusiastic activists drawn to them.
The abuse goes on.
