Just did new thermostat, pump, hoses, radiator the whole shabang. Put it all back together and the car instantly dies after turning it on.

Took it all apart again, noticed that the hose to "this thing" at the bottom had cracked and fell off. What is this? And if the hose that goes from this and down to the dipstick is missing, would that explain why the car dies? (Car sounds like a really old muscle car at this point) not that familiar with how bensin engines work yet.

Thought it was a nut, reached in to grab it, crumbled and fell off the moment my finger touched it, what is it? Can i drive without with?

Long story short:

Bought a E91 320d xdrive 2008, seller had used an app called xDelete to make it RWD. I bought the app to program it back to 4x4. After swapping a bad ABS sensor the app programming worked. 4x4 is working, but the rear axle is not "letting up" when turning.

When reversing into parking spots etc the car barely moves, really gotta step on the pedal to make the car move. Found out its because the rear axle isnt letting up, can wery clearly hear it from the tires as well.

I've already tried swapping out the transfer case actuator, but nothing changed. Any ideas? I've already ruined some bushing on the rear axle driving it like this.
