The number of complaints I have seen here about Amazon causing problems with library loans is reason 232,387,281,923 to ditch Amazon. While ereaders are not cheap, if you have the chance to ditch Amazon, do.

EDIT (since I don’t know how to pin my comment): To be clear, this is not a moral judgement of people with a Kindle, and my OP was (hopefully obviously) hyperbole. Continuing to use what we have when it is working is a responsible move (and sometimes the only option), and there are so many reasons for having one. Also, if someone is in the market, there are other options out there.
