Best UNPAVED nature trails in DFW?

I'm looking for dog-friendly nature trails with no pavement in DFW.

  • I used to have All Trails but the filter only went the other direction (could filter out the unpaved trails but not filter out the paved for some reason).

  • Open to all 'levels' of trail. We've been to the Cedar Ridge Nature Preserve and Oakcliff Nature Preserve.

  • River Legacy is ok but most of it is paved and has a lot of cyclists and just doesn't have that 'I'm hiking in the woods' feel when you can almost always still see and hear cars. Hearing ice cream truck music endlessly while nature hiking is kinda funny :D

  • North Arlington and North Dallas are our starting points for driving distance. Not looking for anything that's hours away, so maybe say <45-60 minute drive if it's someplace with a least a few miles of trail options. Don't mind shorter hikers <1 mile, but for those I wouldn't want to be driving a half hour to get to them.

  • For this weekend in particular, I'm looking for someplace within 45 or so of North Arlington River Legacy area. But in general for myself same thing around North Dallas.
