I’m cooking for somebody with an allium allergy. No garlic, onions, leeks, shallots, ramps, chives, garlic chives, spring onions, scallions, etc, etc.
Despite these typically being the base of nearly everything I cook, I’m pretty confident that I can make decent food without them. But I’m curious if there are substitutes you’ve found that impart similar flavor outside of the allium family.
Do you have any advice? Tips, substitutes, and recipes welcome!
