I’m planning to hike the Tour du Mont Blanc in the first two weeks of August, bringing my own tent and using official campgrounds, with bivouac or budget hostels as backup if needed (bad weather, full campsites, etc.).

I want to keep the trip as flexible as possible, without having to reserve everything in advance. My question is how realistic this is in peak season: have someone already done it in that period? Is it usually possible to just show up at campsites or call the same day and still find a spot?
