Belt oblong hole centering jig

I wanted a precise way to center the oblong hole in a belt blank. The tool handles on some punches are not centered with the cutting end so I had to improvise.

Handle attachment for my briefcases

I don't use top mounted billets on my cases, I have seen too many peel away in time. To avoid perpendicular loads on my stitch lines I attach the square rings underneath with a 12 OZ piece of bridle leather for support. The top piece just covers the stitching from underneath.

This holds the tool vertical and has a deep access to reach in from the edge.

This is the stitching horse I made for my work. It is made of white ash with hard maple jaws. The mechanism for opening and closing was an old Jorgensen woodworking clamp. I used the metal components mounted at the bottom of the jaws. I also cut a walnut "wing" that was glued into the handle for easier turning. The unit sits on a low bench that has sliding trays for tools. there is also a stiff oak post behind the unit bolted to the bench. The post allows me to suspend large projects above the jaws when I need to work on them. The jaws are lined with hard felt.

These are my Track guided cutting boards I made for leather. They use an extruded aluminum track that is held in place with bolts. The track can be raised to allow the leather to be placed underneath and held down. The blade holder is part of a mat cutter I removed and attached to a block of UHMW pe. The block is routed with a tight fitting groove which allows it to slide on the track. The blade rides in a narrow slot in the table surface so there is no drag. The smaller board has a fence which I can place spacers against to give me various cutting widths without measuring. The blocks are very smooth so they can slid on top of the leather with no damage.
