So short story I wanted a watch that was close to the submariner. I looked at a bunch of Seikos, Timex, Orient, etc. The Seiko on the left is the one I settled with.

Fast forward a few months later it still wasn’t really scratching the itch, like it wasn’t that close to the submariner as I wanted it to be.

I discovered San Martin and got the one on the right. At first I was amazed at the quality, crystal, bezel all of it. Even though it’s on par looks wise with the Sub, I can’t help but feel like a fraud for at least not wearing a respectable brand. Thoughts? Or am I overthinking it

This is my first San Martin watch, I’m relatively new to automatic watches.

How long would it be before I would need to get the ST2130 serviced? How will I know it needs servicing and can any reputable jeweler do it?

Also has anyone tested the water resistance with these like swimming? Thanks for the help!

Waited a few weeks for this! My first San Martin.
I come from owning Sekio’s mostly, some Bulova’s too.
I’m blown away by the quality, functionality, and finishing on this! Blows my Seiko out of the water in all aspects.

What’s the correct way to set the date and time? I read you’re not supposed to do it between 8:00pm and 5:00am. What do you recommend?

Getting this sized tomorrow by my jeweler, it has the screw in links but im not risking doing it myself haha.

Can’t wait for this to come in, hoping it actual does and they don’t send me the wrong one. (I still like Seiko by the way)
