Light duty home shop/hobby CNC lathe?

I have a couple side jobs I'd like to be able to work on at home, maybe some crafts I could sell at local vendors market type ideas and was wondering if there are any decent bench top style cnc lathes out there. The Tormach looks like the best option, but starting at $12k I was hoping for something with a lower entry cost. I'm only looking to machine acrylic and aluminum, maybe brass so it doesn't need a ton of power or speed. Just decent repeatability so I can try to run some parts in the garage.

Manufacturing company I work for is becoming an assembly facility. Not a lot of options locally for machine work (none that pay what I already make anyway) and not sure where to go with my career from here. I have about 12 years experience in machine shops and 7 as a setup/operator and I write g code at the console on haas lathe and mill to program currently. I don't know CAD/CAM which is a huge setback in the modern job market and I don't really have time to go to school while supporting my family at this time. Feeling lost and burnt out seeking advice.
