Okay so I’ve gone down the rabbit hole of rats and I need advice.

The choice is basically an actual rat or something more versatile/modern.

I play indie/rock so the I’d prefer something versatile enough to do less gain if needed rather than picking something that can go full fuzz.

I’ve narrowed down potentials to:
Proco Rat 2
Walrus Audio Iron Horse
Drunk Beaver Bat
Wampler Ratsbane

I would quite like the 1981 DRV but it’s heading out of my budget.

Don’t really want something cheap and cheerful otherwise I’ll just get the rat.

Need helping finding an overdrive:

I currently play a Fender Johnny Marr Jaguar into an Iridium/Clean amp. I have the JHS Notaklon as a first gain stage but need a second overdrive that can deliver a nice mid-gain. I play a mixture of lead and rhythm so it would be good if it could stack well with the Klon for lead but then be a good stand alone sound for chords.

I use an SD-1 currently which is pretty okay but there’s so much choice with overdrives I wanted to get a general idea from others.

Tried the JHS Morning Glory and thought it was disappointing - not really looking for something too heavy/fuzzy either as I play Indie/Rock.
