I’ve started compiling questions that seem simple but are actually surprisingly complex once you try to answer them definitively.
Example:
Does how you name something alter reality?
Your initial reaction may be that this is silly, of course it doesn’t. Names are just semantic attachments. The thing is still the thing regardless.
Then you realize:
- Names create buckets
- Buckets change how you see things
- How you see things changes how you act
- Actions alter reality
So how does describing things stop and altering things begin?
Would love to hear how people formulate this in their head.
Is naming reactive or proactive?
